Air conditioning loses a little refrigerant every year through normal seal permeation. If it has stopped cooling entirely, there is usually a leak, and regassing without finding it just vents the new gas out again.
Air is cool but not cold
Takes much longer to cool the cabin than it used to
Musty smell when the fan starts
Compressor cycling on and off rapidly
System performance and vent temperature test
Leak detection using dye or electronic detection
Evacuation and regas to the correct refrigerant type
Compressor and clutch operation checked
Condenser and cabin filter inspection
Odour treatment where the evaporator has fouled
Depends on refrigerant type and capacity. Newer vehicles using R1234yf cost noticeably more to fill than older R134a systems.
We quote before starting. If the job changes once the car is on the hoist, we call you rather than adding it to the invoice.
