Nothing gets touched before you have a figure. If the job changes once the car is on the hoist, we stop and call rather than adding it to the invoice at the end.
Every job comes with a written report: what was done, what we found, and what is worth watching before the next service. Old parts are kept if you want to see them.
A realistic date beats an optimistic one. If parts supply changes the timeline, you hear about it the same day rather than when you turn up to collect.
Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair costs more than the car is worth, or that something can safely wait six months. You get told that too.
Plenty of workshops do one or the other. Doing both matters most after an accident, when a car often needs suspension, steering or cooling work alongside the panel repair. Handled in one place, it is one assessment, one timeline, and one business answering the phone.
